Facilitation
This essential skills training focuses on skills and competencies for WSU Extension professional who want to develop or improve their facilitation skills when working with their communities. Workshops emphasizes basic skills for the new facilitator. Participants will practice their facilitaiton skills in several role-playing activities.
WSU Extension Core Competency addressed in this essential skill area:
Leadership
- Cultivate leadership skills in others, both staff and volunteers to accomplish program goals.
- Manage conflict effectively and help others resolve it when possible.
- Facilitate groups to accomplish programmatic goals.
- Assist groups to create future vision and action plans.
Communication Skills
- Engage with groups and individuals from all cultural, economic and educational backgrounds, both youth and adults, through effective listening, speaking, and other forms of communication.
- Explore and adopt cutting-edge communication and education techniques and technologies.
