Meet Our New Colleagues

Kevin Zobrist

Kevin Zobrist became the Forest Stewardship Extension Educator for Snohomish and Skagit Counties in June 2007, which means he provides workshops on a variety of forestry topics, interpretive programs, and one-on-one technical assistance to local landowners. As a research scientist for the last six years at the University of Washington, Kevin’s focus was very similar, including work on improving technology transfer to small forest landowners and developing forest management strategies to better integrate biodiversity and economic objectives. These efforts were often in collaboration with colleagues at WSU Extension and the Rural Technology Initiative, making for a smooth transition to his new position. In addition to his work experience at UW, Kevin also earned his MS in forest economics and BS in forest management there.

In his spare time, Kevin enjoys gardening, hiking, photography, and model trains. He was born in Bellevue.
