James Olmstead
As of November 2007, James Olmstead is providing his expertise in tree fruit horticulture for Yakima County as an Extension Educator. For the previous two years he served as a research associate for cherry breeding and genetics at the IAREC in Prosser. James’ education includes a PhD in plant breeding and genetics from Michigan State University and an MS and BS in horticulture from WSU. His professional goals are to improve tree fruit horticulture production, sustainability, and profitability using genomic technologies. He was born in Grandview.
