Bidisha Mandal
We are pleased to introduce Bidisha Mandal, a new Health Extension Economist and Assistant Professor in the WSU School of Economic Sciences. Some of her current research includes exploring the effects of job loss and retirement on the mental health of elderly Americans, the relationship between adult obesity and lifestyle, and strategies to combine employment and breastfeeding.
Bidisha joined us in August 2007 from The Ohio State University’s Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Developmental Economics, where she taught and earned her PhD. She also has master’s degrees in economics and statistics from Ohio State, and a BS in statistics from the University of Delhi in India. She was born in New Delhi.
