Cynthia Riley
Cynthia Riley stepped into the role of Learning Center Coordinator for Pierce County at Salishan in October 2006. Working out of the only public housing development within a land grant university in the United States, she also acts as Program Representative for WSU’s Distance Degree Programs, which collaborate with community colleges and military bases to reach students interested in finishing their bachelors’ degrees.
Cynthia earned an MA in Education and BA in Communication from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma in 2003 and 2001, respectively. Her last position was as an Academic Advisor for PLU.
Cynthia’s extracurricular interests in youth outreach and tutoring integrate well with her expertise and on-the-job application of student and adult learning theory. Additional interests include writing, music, and tall ship sailing. She was born in Seoul, South Korea.
