Meet Our New Colleagues

Troy Peters

Troy Peters joined WSU on March 1, 2006, as the Extension Irrigation Specialist located at the Irrigated Agriculture Research and Extension Center in Prosser. Troy grew up in Wyoming, but spent his summers through high school irrigating in Idaho. He completed his undergraduate degree in manufacturing engineering from Brigham Young University. After working for three years in a semiconductor (computer chip) factory, he decided to get back to his first love, agriculture, and went back to school and completed his Ph.D. in irrigation engineering at Utah State University.

He worked for the last three years in the Texas panhandle doing research on automatic irrigation scheduling of center pivots with the USDA-ARS.

Troy has five young children and so has very little free time, but when he gets a minute he likes to read, play the fiddle, hike and garden.
