Meet Our New Colleagues

Sue Lerner

Sue Lerner was rehired as a King County Extension Agent in June 2006. She is responsible for the 4-H program there, which includes working with faculty and staff to meet the needs of local youth and provide volunteers with support and training, as well as developing partnerships between 4-H and other youth-serving organizations. Sue’s MA in Educational Administration from the University of Washington and BA in Education from UCLA, combined with her expertise in out-of-school programs, youth development, and work with diverse youth culminated in 2001 with implementation of the 4-H Rite of Passage program. She credits her involvement with this formalized means of “culturally appropriate” maturation as facilitating her transfer from retirement back into a renewed career assisting youth develop into healthy adults.

Apart from her professional calling, Sue enjoys weaving, downhill skiing, and pug dogs.
