Jane Lanigan
Jane Lanigan began a joint appointment as Assistant Professor of Human Development and Extension Parenting Specialist for WSU Vancouver in August 2006. As such, she supports statewide parenting efforts as well as provides instruction on balancing work and family, media impacts on children and families, and close relationships.
Jane has a PhD in Family Studies from Texas Women’s University in Denton, an MA in Early Childhood and Special Education from George Washington University in DC, and a BS in Psychology and Elementary Education from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Her last position was as a Visiting Instructor for the University of North Texas.
Jane was born in Montpelier, Vermont, the least populous state capital in the nation and the only one to boast no McDonald’s. Her hobbies range from writing, reading, and cooking, to sailing, kayaking, hiking, and skiing.
