SERVICE CENTERS

When Extension programs are taking in money from "customers" to cover costs, the best vehicle may be a service center. Services provided by a service center must promote the education, research, or public service missions of the University. The University does not intend service centers to compete with private business. For purposes of this policy, a service center is defined as any University operation which charges for goods, services, and/or use of equipment. The CAHNRS Business and Finance Office is available for advice on setting up a service center. WSU BPPM section 30.15 will help you decide if your idea qualifies as a service center, and to provide access to an application form.
