NW PARENTING AND FAMILY EDUCATION CONFERENCE
For health care professionals and researchers, educators and administrators, social workers, and others who work with children and their parents, the 14th Annual NW Parenting and Family Education Conference at WSU's Vancouver campus on March 12-14 is a must event.
This year's theme is "Rx for Family Health," which will bring together nationally recognized researchers and practitioners to share cutting-edge information, research, and practical techniques during 3 days of professional development for parenting and family educators, child-care providers, and other family-serving professionals.  Students are encouraged to participate, and there is a special rate for students.

Keynote speaker Dr. Ann Corwin will share her twenty-five years of
experience in parenting consulting and child development education.   As
an authority in her field of parenting counseling, she has helped thousands of parents - with children ages birth to five years and beyond.  Experts will conduct numerous workshops before and during the conference, covering a wide range of parenting and child development topics, including at risk and difficult children, and infant mental health.

CHANGES IN GRANTS.GOV
Grants.gov is the source to FIND and APPLY for Federal government grants.  The Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES) will continue to utilize Grants.gov to post CSREES discretionary funding opportunities and, in some cases, other CSREES funding opportunities, and receive electronic applications.  Initially, in order to submit an electronic application to a Federal agency via Grants.gov a mini-software application, PureEdge Viewer, was needed to access and complete the necessary forms.  Grants.gov is currently transitioning to use of a different mini-software application, Adobe Reader version 8.1.1.

Currently, the Grants.gov plan is to no longer make available as of April 1, 2008 PureEdge for posting application packages to Grants.gov.
Grants.gov also plans to no longer accept electronic PureEdge applications as of June 30, 2008.  CSREES is in the process of establishing its own transition plan from PureEdge to Adobe given Grants.gov's publicized dates.  Once established, CSREES will announce its plan accordingly.
