FITZGERALD NAMED MASTER GARDENER PROGRAM LEADER
Effective February 1st, Tonie Fitzgerald, a longtime horticulture educator with Washington State University Extension in Spokane County, is the new program leader for the statewide Master Gardner program.
Fitzgerald, whose clients range from golf course managers to home orchardists, participates in the Digital Diagnosis Lab at Spokane, part of national network of labs created with homeland security funds as a place where plant samples can be brought to identify and respond to any new pathogen or insect. TATE TO RECEIVE SERVICE AWARD
Esther Tate, Finance/Budget Manager, Extension Grants Team, has been selected as one of the recipients of the WSU Grant and Contract Administration Service Awards.  This award recognizes current and former WSU employees who have provided outstanding and meritorious contributions to the field.  Esther will be honored at a recognition luncheon on Wednesday, February 6th.  Congratulations, Esther!

PERSONNEL
Caroline Kennedy (Carrie) was appointed Interim County Director for WSU Extension in Wahkiakum County as of January 1, 2008. Carrie lives in Cathlamet and had been working for Extension in Food$ense, small farms education, and on the Horizons Project. Carrie has a BS from Colorado State University and an MS from Utah State University.

January 1, 2008 Jennifer Leach was assigned full-time to 4-H Youth Development in Cowlitz County. Jennifer had previously split her time between Wahkiakum and Cowlitz Counties. Jennifer's Wahkiakum County email address is no longer functional but she can be reached at her Cowlitz County email address leachj@co.cowlitz.wa.us. She is also available at the new office location for Cowlitz County, 1946 3rd Ave, Longview, WA, 98632. Phone 360-577-3014 ex-4.

SCHEDULE
Linda will be in Pullman Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  She will be in Seattle on Friday attending the Sea Grant Advisory Committee meeting at University of Washington.

John will be in Pullman all week.
