FARM AND GREENHOUSE SAFETY
A Farm and Greenhouse Safety class is being offered Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007 from 1:15-2:30 in CUE 319 as part of the CAHNRS Employee Development Conference. Due to the importance of this class the conference committee has decided to open this class up to anyone that would like to attend, waiving the conference fee. KIDWELL NAMED ASSOCIATE DEAN, CAHNRS
Dr. Kim Kidwell, spring wheat breeder and an award-winning teacher and advisor in the Washington State University College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences, has been appointed the new associate dean for academic programs in the college. MILLER RECEIVES MORRISON AWARD
Dr. Tim Miller, associate weed scientist and extension weed specialist at the WSU Mount Vernon Northwestern Washington Research and Extension Center, received the Kenneth J. Morrison Extension Award, Wednesday, July 10, at the center’s Center annual field day. The award recognizes WSU Extension faculty for significant contributions made to agronomic crop production and soil management. WSU LEADERSHIP TEAM ADDITIONS
President Elson S. Floyd has moved toward completing his leadership team, naming two new administrators -- a vice president for information services and a vice president for enrollment management. Viji Murali (Mer-ahl-e), who has served as vice president for information technology and chief information officer for Western Michigan University since 1999, will assume the role of vice president for information services and chief information officer at WSU. John Fraire, currently the associate vice president for enrollment management at Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo., is WSU’s new vice president for enrollment management.
