academic operation while maintaining WSU’s focus on recruiting
and retaining high ability students. For the complete story refer
to WSU Today online http://www.wsutoday.wsu.edu/completestory.asp?StoryID=3535

awards:
- Cougar Commitment

WSU MOBILE WIRELESS PHONE/DATA SERVICE
WSU has signed a contract with Sprint to be the provider of choice
for mobile wireless voice/data services. This effort was endorsed
by UACCT, the University Advisory Committee for Computing and Telecommunications.
The contract includes:
- Discounted rates;
- Mobile data service so customers have the option of checking
email using their phones;
- Adequate coverage throughout the WSU system; (Pullman, all Regional
Campuses, and all Extension offices — just make sure you
have Sprint coverage in your geographic area)
- Electronic billing greatly reducing WSU’s efforts in paying
individual bills.
Information Technology Services will be managing the ordering and
billing of the services. WSU departments may order the new services
using the link on http://infotech.wsu.edu/communications/.
Our Sprint Account representative, Carrie Fawcett, will also still
be available to help in selecting phone devices, features, and accessories.
The monthly and one-time charges will be included in the existing
IT Services Telecommunications billing statement. No additional
markup or administrative charges will be applied at this time.
WSU faculty, staff, and students may take advantage of the new
Employee Value Program with special discounts for personal phones
by going to http://infotech.wsu.edu/communications
and following the link to the program. Individuals who are presently
Sprint customers may also request the WSU discounts on their current
monthly service plans without a contract extension by contacting
the Sprint Account representative.
Departments who are current Sprint customers will be contacted
to select a new WSU Sprint Program in the next few weeks. Each department
will be asked to select a comparable WSU/Sprint Business Plan that
best fits their needs. Please contact Colleen O’Neill at (509)-335-0498
or oneill@wsu.edu with
any questions.
To assist departments in selecting a plan under the new agreement
with Sprint, IT Services will be scheduling informational sessions
within the next month to familiarize departments with the program
including, subscriptions, billing, and support. The first session
will be held January 4th, 10-11am in ITB 2025.
