FAMILY SCIENCE AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
CSREES NEWS
The Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension
Service (CSREES) works with land-grant university partners and others
to advance knowledge for agriculture, the environment, human health
and well-being, and communities through national program leadership
and Federal assistance. Among the Agency’s goals is to support
increased economic opportunities and quality of life in rural areas.
CSREES’ Family Science and Human Development (FSHD) program
promotes research, education, and extension to help individuals
and families make informed decisions; become self-reliant; improve
their quality of life and well-being; and engage fully in the growth
and development of their communities.
FSHD is integrated with a wide variety of disciplines identified
in the CSREES strategic plan, including 4-H Youth Development, Human
Nutrition, Financial Security, Health, and Housing and Indoor Environments.
Current priorities of the CSREES FSHD program include family, couple,
and interpersonal relationships; parenting education; healthy aging;
family caregiving; child care provider training; family disaster
planning; and military family life.
Family Science and Human Development News, http://www.csrees.usda.gov/ProgView.cfm?prnum=5902
disseminated six times each year, serves as a clearinghouse
of information of interest to the national FSHD community. Most
of the newsletter items reside in the FSHD Program Page, on the
CSREES Web site. After reading your newsletter item or items of
interest, we encourage you to further explore the FSHD Program Page
and the rest of the CSREES Web site. One way to do so is by using
the breadcrumb navigation trail at the top of each page.
