Topics in today's issue of Extension Update:

ORDER FALL/WINTER EXTENSION LOGO CLOTHING ITEMS
It’s time to place our bulk order for selected fall/winter clothing items displaying the Washington State University Extension logo. The fall/winter items include long sleeve polos, mock turtlenecks, and a selection of sweatshirts. There is also an item exclusively for the ladies – a long sleeve scoop neck stretch shirt. All of these items are available in a variety of colors and many of the items are offered youth sizes.

Starting Friday, October 20, you can view and order items being offered at http://ext.wsu.edu/marketing, then click on the “Clothing” link.

Other WSU Extension logo merchandise available at any time through Bulletins include: pens, lapel pins, ceramic mugs, and post-it-note cubes. These items are available for direct order on the web at http://ext.wsu.edu/marketing, and then click on the “Accessories” link.

Just fill out the appropriate order form and send in your check or IRI to Kathy Stilwell, P.O. Box 646248, Pullman, WA 99164-6248. Checks should be made out to WSU Extension. Be sure to fill out the order form completely. Please submit all clothing orders by Monday, November 6. We expect delivery of these items the first week of December to avoid the holiday rush. All payments must be received before the bulk order can be placed.

Please contact Kathy Stilwell at stilwell@wsu.edu or 509-335-2837 if you have any questions.

FUELING WASHINGTON WITH BIOPRODUCTS: WSU-PNNL-WSDA
The newest Briefing Paper is posted on Olympia Update No. 5:
http://www.olympia.wsu.edu/News/2007_News_Five.stm A $6.7 million comprehensive research program that promotes manufacture of fuels from Washington-grown crops and forest products was supported by President Lane Rawlins in discussions with the governor’s budget staff here in Olympia. The 2006 Legislature assisted new fuel plants being built in this state to relieve reliance on foreign petroleum products. But some of these plants still rely on palm oil and other “feedstock” materials imported from countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, and Canada.
