CHANGES IN APPOINTMENTS – DEVELOPMENT DIRECTORS
Patrick Kramer, CAHNRS Director of Development, has been appointed Interim Vice President for Constituency and Regional Development Programs. Patrick, who has strong support from his development colleagues, will fill this role for the next six months, beginning June 12. Patrick will be responsible for building a strong sense of team among the constituency development officers, both as a whole and in concert with their central colleagues. Specifically, he has been asked him to provide leadership to ensure a strong year-end finish for each unit; to work with each team to finish annual planning efforts, with consideration for both unit and University priorities as well as immediate and long-term campaign goals; and to help shape and implement the new performance appraisal process of development staff. Patrick will also be working with me and other Deans as we continue to prepare for the campaign.

Megan Riebe, 4-H and Extension Director of Development, will serve as the Interim Director for the WSU Extension/CAHNRS Alumni and Development Office, effective June 12. Megan will be assisted by Rich Hines, Bob Scholes, and the rest of the A & D staff.

Pete Volk, Land Manager, CAHNRS, is also changing his job. Pete will join the Washington State University Foundation as a Planned Giving Officer working in the Planned Giving Office. This change will be effective July 1, 2006. From that date forward all land management issues should be directed to Dan Hardesty of the newly created Real Estate Department. The Real Estate Department is lead by Mel Taylor and is a part of the Business Affairs Office. Dan will have a direct phone line in the near future over in French Administration but for now please call 509/335-2447 which is the office’s main phone and someone can get you the help you need.
