You are invited to join the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences as they honor Dr. Shahla Shapouri and Dr. Virginia Hillers, Tuesday, March 21st at 2:30 p.m. in the Lewis Alumni Centre (refreshments will be served)

Dr. Shahla Shapouri (Agricultural Economics, Ph. D, 1978) will be honored with the CAHNRS Women's History Award for Community Leadership and Public Service. Dr. Shapouri is Lead Economist in the USDA Economic Research Service's International Food Security Program for Developing Countries. She is currently working with the FAO of the United Nations evaluating food security and poverty policies.

Dr. Virginia "Val" Hillers (Ph.D. Nutrition, 1984) will be honored with the CAHNRS Women's History Award for Professional and Academic Leadership. Her timely food handling interventions have saved countless lives in Washington State and beyond.

Many of you in Extension who have worked with Val over the years may wish to send cards and letters for us to present to her. Cards for Dr. Hillers can be sent to our office, P.O. Box 646248, Pullman, WA 99164-6248.
