NATIONAL EXTENSION DIVERSITY CENTER AUGUST EDITION
This month's
edition of the National
Extension Diversity Center features emotions in the workplace.
As author, Ann Snyder writes, "What’s emotion got to
do with diversity in the workplace? What choices do individuals
have for integrating emotion at work in meaningful and respectful
ways? What governs the expression of emotion in the workplace?
Who gets to decide the role of emotion in our work lives? Is emotion
in the workplace a diversity issue?"
Snyder's article features a facilitator's guide so that you can
offer a mini-workshop in workplaces around the issue of expressing
or not expressing emotion at work. You can also voice your opinion
on our August Opinion Poll.
ENERGY AG NEWSBRIEFS
Distributed since 1999 through the Energy
Program, the EnergyAg Newsbriefs has over 500 subscribers including
state and federal
agencies, cooperative extension nationwide, farmers, and anyone
else interested in energy efficiency as it relates to agriculture.
While mostly concentrated on topics applicable to Western States
(because of our funder's service territory), the newsletter does
cover projects and news from other states. The Energy Program has
received good feedback from subscribers over the years and is a
useful tool for readers. View
archived issues.

separately. This is a .5 FTE appointment. Janet will continue her
.5 FTE appointment with USDA/CSREES. A number of you may recall
that Janet worked in the Spokane County 4-H Program over a decade

SKILLSOFT COURSE DOWNLOADS IMPROVED
Within your SkillPort is
the ability to download courses and play them without being connected
to the
Internet. Your scores and course progress are added to your SkillPort
record the next time you login. This is useful if you are planning
a trip soon and will not have access to a network connection. Also,
it can improve your learning experience if you have a slow connection
speed such as through dial-up. Or, perhaps, you would simply like
to take your learning to the park and enjoy a course under your
favorite elm. The download feature is described through the shortcut
on your SkillPort. With WSU and SkillSoft, you can take the learning
with you - wherever you go!
