Topics in today’s Extension Update:

CBBD LAUNCHES NEW ON-LINE JOURNAL
The CBDD launched this week a new on-line journal; "ICT Connections: Local Choices Global Applications" which can be viewed at http://cbdd.typepad.com/cbdd/

The initial issue has an article from a Washington State small town leader, a Vice Provost at Jomo Kenyatta University and some expressions from 4-H youth engaged in technology, each describing the importance of Information Communication Technology (ICT) access to them. Note there is a button is provided on the far right side of the front page that allows you to sign up to be notified of future on-line releases.

The journal is fully interactive and it is hoped that people will respond with comments. Extension has deep connections within several different networks of individuals/organizations sharing a common goal of applying information technology to development or expansion of individual opportunity. One measure of success for the new on-line journal is if by facilitating connections among these networks we introduce people to ideas or concepts they would not otherwise have come across.

Please add comments to the on-line journal if you wish. Also your help suggesting stories and getting the word out regarding this new on-line opportunity would be appreciated. The CBDD hopes participation from readers will result in somewhat organic development of content with a goal of fresh articles every month or so.

Take a look and give it a try.

CSREES REVIEW OF WSU EXTENSION ANNUAL REPORT OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS
We received the written feedback from the Review Team assigned to review the WSU Extension Annual Report of Accomplishments FY03. I’m pleased to say we received a glowing review with no identified weaknesses, no suggested improvements for next year. In addition, the Review Team noted “WSU presented its well-written, well-thought out report, based on national goals and key themes, and documented the impact related to each theme. Strong impacts include a diverse range of programmatic efforts geared toward the needs of the state and much of this work is integrated.” We will post a pdf copy of the Review Team Summary on the Overview page of the WSU Extension Web site.
