SURVEY OF SATELLITE DOWNLINK USE
As part of our technology planning efforts for WSU Extension, we
need to gather information about the use of our satellite downlinks
at county extension, Learning Center and R & E Center offices.
We have a continual need to maintain and upgrade the system and
we need to know exactly how much use and what type of use is being
made of each local satellite receive system in our network.
So it's critical that we have a 100% return of this survey from all
Extension sites with a satellite downlink. So we are asking the
supervisors at each location (county chairs, LC Coordinators and
R & E Center Directors) to be sure that information for the
survey is solicited and gathered from all staff at their location
and that this information is summarized and entered into the on
line survey.
Once the survey information is summarized and tabulated, the results
will be shared when available. The survey can be found on line
at http://ext.wsu.edu/satellitesurvey.html

HILLERS' FOOD SAFETY ONLINE CHAT AT THE SPOKESMAN-REVIEW
On January 22, Val Hillers, a food safety expert from Washington
State University, answered Spokesman-Review reader questions via
an online chat. This morning the Spokesman had a summary of the
chat printed in the newspaper. The entire chat is at: www.spokesmanreview.com/foodchat
According
to the Web site, the food safety chat transcript will stay there
indefinitely. Congratulations, Val. MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR FEBRUARY 10 DIALOGUE WITH PROVOST BATES
Faculty, staff and students have an opportunity to interact with
Washington State University Provost Bob Bates at noon Tuesday,
Feb. 10, at the CUB Cascade Rooms. He will share updates on the
University's Strategic Plan and on academic programs, and then
will open the dialogue to your comments and questions.
The dialogue will also be available by videostreaming, and a new
online mechanism will be used so people watching on computers can
ask questions. Details will be provided closer to the date of the
dialogue.
A
link to the videostream site is always available on the Face
to Face with WSU Leaders Web page that also includes the 2003-2004 calendar of dialogues and forums.
