ITALIAN
FOOD & WINE EXPERIENCE FOR CAHNRS ALUMNI AND FRIENDS
Don't miss this year's exclusive trips to Italy being offered through
"A Cook's Tour" sponsored by WSU College of Agricultural,
Human, and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS). A year ago, 20 of
our Alumni celebrated 100 years of Home Economics and experienced
the "Italian Food & Wine Experience" and raved about
the great time they had. Several people called to reserve space
after the tour was filled, so this year we are offering two dates.
The ten-day journeys are scheduled for May 15th to 24th and September
15th to 24th.
While
in Italy, you will stay in a beautifully restored 13th Century Villa
set in the midst of lush orchards and vineyards in the Valpolicella
region of the Veneto, just south of the Alps and a few miles from
Lake Garda. In Tuscany you will stay in a restored 16th Century
Villa with panoramic views of the rolling hills of central Italy,
situated between the Rennaisance city of Florence the magical medieval
town of Siena.
Each
of the stops has been hand selected to give you a unique view into
the food and wine culture of the region, including an entertaining
and educational hands-on lesson in each location under the direction
of a professional Italian Chef. You will learn to prepare six to
eight dishes in each of these lessons. You will also enjoy the foods
prepared along with specially selected wines of the region as a
part of your culinary adventure.
Brochures
are available through the CAHNRS Alumni and Development office,
contact Britta Nitcy, or contact Linda Fox. For personal reflection
on their experiences last year in Italy, Val Hillers and Jan and
Larry Hiller can also help answer your questions. If you would like
to reserve a spot, give "A Cook's Tour" a call at 800-726-6388
and ask for David Iverson. Don't delay; the tours fill quickly.
