The Washington State Association of Counties (WSAC) Members of the ad hoc committee are: Ray Faini, Chelan County, Katherine Baril, Jefferson County, Curt Moulton, Snohomish County, Doug Stienbarger, Clark County, Dan Fagerlie, Ferry County, Wayne Madson, NE District Director, Kelsey Gray, Extension Organizational Development Specialist, and Linda Kirk Fox, Associate Dean. EXTENSION AND COMMUNITY SERVICE LEARNING TAKING SHAPE
An active ad hoc planning group has been meeting over the past few months regarding collaborations between WSU Office of Community Service Learning and Cooperative Extension. The committee includes Jan Hiller, Scott Fedale, Gary Brown, Lisa Shipley, Cliff Moore, Louise Turner, and Melanie Brown.

The goals of the planning group include the long-term program development to link service learning with extension and short-term goal is (2003-04) implementation of two pilot projects, i.e. academic classes incorporating extension service learning projects.

Two classes and pilot projects are underway. One is Wildlife Management NATRS 280 Lisa Shipley, instructor. The students may have opportunity to interact with participants in 8-week annual training provided by Kitsap County via videoconferencing, with early communication to determine needs/concerns regarding wildlife management. The other class is Landscape Architectural Design LA 363, taught by Sean Michael. Students will have opportunity to participate in the design of a garden for individuals with disabilities in Kitsap County.

REMINDER: INPUT SOUGHT ON MARKETING ITEMS
We would like your input on marketing items that we are considering on having in stock in the near future. Please fill out the survey. Keep in mind that we will continue to offer all of the clothing items that we have marketed in the past. We aren't sure about how well these other potential items will be sold, hence the survey. The items depicted in the pictures are from Internet Web pages and you must use your imagination that these items will be created with the WSU Extension logo.
