FEDERAL BUDGET
On Thursday, September 26th, Congress passed a short term continuing resolution which provides Fiscal Year 2003 funding for the Federal government, including the Department of Agriculture, until Friday, October 4th. Funding is provided at the same level as in Fiscal Year 2002. It is anticipated that the President will sign the bill. It is very likely there will be a series of continuing resolutions over the next few weeks.

Information on House and Senate Committee action is available on the Budget Office homepage.

You can track the FY 2003 appropriation bills by going to http://thomas.loc.gov. Scroll down and click on Status of FY2003 Appropriations Bills.

USDA "LISTENING SESSION"

Margaret Viebrock, Douglas County, will be among those scheduled to provide testimony regarding CSREES Family, Consumer Sciences and Nutrition programming.
