4-H COLLECTION ESTABLISHED IN THE WSU HOLLAND LIBRARY SYSTEM
In recognition of the 4-H Centennial Year, two collections with the Washington State University library system have been established. The first or "lending" collection's purpose is to preserve the information and will make the resources gathered available for check-out to individuals, organizations and other institutions. The second collection, whose purpose is to "preserve the actual item" will be the "archives" collection. The materials will be gathered into the archives collection because of their historical value, rarity, or uniqueness and will only be viewable by going to Holland Library.

To launch the collections, October 7 - 21, 2002, a special display will be created in Holland Library's glass rotunda. The display will celebrate a century of 4-H work and coincides with National 4-H Week October 6 -12, 2002 and All Extension Conference October 14 -16.

The establishment of the 4-H Collections within the WSU library system gives a permanent home to the artifacts that build a 4-H history. If you or your clientele are interested in contributing items to the collections or in donating to support the collections, please call Linda Williams at (253) 445-4550.
