HELLO
FROM NEW ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR FOX
Monday,
February 4th was my first day on the job at WSU. I'd like to take
this opportunity to say how honored I feel to be joining the faculty
and Extension administrative team of Washington State University.
This first week has been one of getting to meet key people on campus
and attend meetings of the President and Provost along with Mike.
This week also included three days attending the Western Region
Extension Directors' and Program Leaders' meetings.
Thanks
for the warm welcome I've already received. The little details of
getting my routine established will take some time as you can appreciate.
I hope to hear from and have a chance to meet all of you in the
upcoming months. My email will be lkfox@wsu.edu.

CSREES
REORGANIZATION
In
September 2001, the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension
Service submitted an agency restructuring plan to the Department
for review and approval. As that process nears completion, we are
preparing to implement a new organizational structure for CSREES
improve service to customers, to clarify roles and responsibilities,
to clarify points of entry to the organization, and to align agency
structure and goals.
Reassignment
of CSREES executive staff to new and existing units will be a initial
step in implementing the new organizational structure. Units will
be headed by the following Deputy Administrators: -Competitive Programs
(CP) Ted (Edward) Wilson -Economic and Community Systems (ECS) Alma
Hobbs -Families, 4-H, and Nutrition (F4-HN) K. Jane Coulter -Information
Systems and Technology Management (ISTM) Sally Rockey -Natural Resources
and Environment (NRE) Dan Kugler -Office of Extramural Programs
(OEP) Louise Ebaugh -Plant and Animal Systems (PAS) Ralph Otto -Science
and Education Resources Development (SERD) George Cooper
CSREES
anticipates that these reassignments will be fully implemented by
March 10, 2002.
