NEW WSU-CE IDENTITY MANUAL ON THE WAY

The new Cooperative Extension Identity Manual is hot off the press. It gives all the information you need to comply with the university standards for developing materials. Follow these guidelines whenever you develop any materials for the public. This REPLACES the old Identity Manual in the silver binder. We will be sending these to you in hard copy. We mean for each Extension Employee to have one, if there is any possibility that you will be producing materials or web pages. Watch out for this valuable resource in the near future. After that, there will be no reason why your materials don't meet all the specs! We are also going to put this manual on the identity website, so you will soon be able to look at it and print if off at http://ext.wsu.edu/identity

NEW TEMPLATE FOR COUNTY WEB PAGES

The Information Department has just completed work on some templates for county web pages. We have worked with both the WSU Marketing/Communications group and several county chairs to adapt the standard WSU web template to fit the needs of our counties.

We have designed a few templates that counties can choose from, depending on their personal preferences. You can view the approved templates at: http://ext.wsu.edu/identity/County_Templates/index.html

You'll note that we have one version that employs the outline of the county, one that uses a county logo and another which employs neither of these two elements. You'll notice that there is a design for the main page as well as a secondary page.

The Information Department will assist any county with customizing one of these templates for their use. In order for them to assist you, you'll need to supply them with the following information:

Text for main navigation links (left-hand side of page)
Text for two links for circular buttons
Photo or image for main area ("Dynamic Content Zone")
Contact information for the footer as discussed in http://www.wsu.edu/identity/web/homepage-guidelines/footer-zone.html
Any desired secondary navigation for area below main image

Send all of this information, or direct any questions about this information, to Miro Vejzovic at: mvejzovic@wsu.edu

If a county feels that they have the skills needed to adapt one of the templates without the assistance of the Information Department, that's fine. But we would appreciate hearing from any counties choosing to do this themselves so we can review what they've done to assure the finished product is still within the WSU guidelines.

Please contact Bob Hoffmann at: "bhoffmann@wsu.edu" to inform us about a new web page you've produced using one of our new templates.
